Alexander Ghindin Alexander Ghindin, 1st Prize in the “I International Piano Competition de SC”, triumphed in a performance with the Symphonic Orchestra of Jerusalem, on August 19, in Rio de Janeiro.  Under the direction of the Israeli maestro Yeruham Scharovsky, Ghidin performed  Concert No. 2 by Rachmaninov for piano and orchestra. The public that filled the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro was enraptured by the impressive performance of one of the most traditional concertos of the piano repertoire. The pianist will perform again on Sunday (August 22) at Sala São Paulo, one of the most renowned concerto rooms in Latin America. The concerts of the Brazilian tournée of the Israeli orchestra are being organized by the Chopin Society of Brazil and Ghindin’s participation is the result of his recent winning participation in the I International Piano Competition of Santa Catarina.
